Women's Blessing ~ July 16, 2016

Women Alive in Christ, the women's ministry of the Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh, invites you to a Summer Blessing.  Our speaker will be Dr. Jeanne Kohn.

Dr. Kohn is the Director of Music Ministries at Church of the Ascension.  She will be speaking to us about "Digging Deeper:  Discovering God's Refuge and Strength".

Lunch will follow. The cost for lunch is $12 with pre-registration or $15.00 at the door.

     Erika is a wonderful teacher whose vast academic knowledge is infused with her own deep faith and love of God's work.

24 Hour Women's Retreat

24 Hour Retreat on The Story of Scripture led by The Venerable Mark Stevenson, Ph.D.The Ven Mark Stevenson, PhD

The Venerable Mark Stevenson, PhD, is the Archdeacon of the Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh and the Academic Dean of Trinity School for Ministry. He serves as deacon at Trinity, Washington, with his wife, The Rev. Karen Stevenson. He has had a long career as an actor, director and theatre professor. Recently he has focused his performance skills on memorizing and reciting Scripture passages in their original settings in the Holy Land, Jordan, Greece, and Turkey. He also continues to work
with Saltworks Theatre Company, a Christian theatre group in Pittsburgh.

Scripture” will explore ways of looking at the Bible as a single, complete, and great Drama from Genesis to Revelation. We will look at the different acts of the drama and how they sustain and move forward the entirety of God’s plan. We will look at the different ways the Scripture tells the story, focusing particularly on the Bible’s narrative structure. Special attention will be paid to the Gospels and how to read, recite, and listen to them more attentively. There will be interactive exercises, mini-projects, and time for prayer and meditation on Scripture.
